It is not possible to appreciate the sculptural and luminous quality of Rob's work in two dimensions, such as on this website page or in an exhibition catalogue. It is highly recommended that you view the work in person.
EARLY WORKS
The Making of Cylcops, 1992
In 1992, acting in a technical capacity, Rob made the world's largest art hologram for Royal College of Art graduate and artist Caius Hawkins. This laser transmission hologram artwork, named Cyclops, was created using a single piece of holographic film and with a single exposure. The work is 1.1 x 2 metres in size. It was displayed at the London Science Museum, illuminated with an argon laser. It is thought to remain the world's largest non-tiled hologram artwork, and one of only two or three holograms that have ever been made at this size or larger.
